Mission Statement
The name of the Long
Island Golf Course Superintendents Association and the title of “Golf
Course Superintendent” must be and forever remain a synonym of fine turfgrass culture,
dedicated to the highest standards of maintenance and management practices as related
to the synonym. The name of the Association
and the title shall always reflect the highest principles of integrity involving
the superintendent’s responsibilities to his employer, to his employees, to manufacturing
and commercial representatives, to the golf industry as a whole, and to his fellow
superintendents. All members of the
Association will constantly promote the recognition and esteem of the Golf Course
Superintendent as a profession. In
the fulfillment of the purposes to which this Association enjoins all its members
to the rigid observance of the Code of Ethics.
