Scholarship Fund

The Long Island Golf Course Superintendent's Association is proud to invest in our future.  Given the rising costs of secondary education today, we are all lucky to have such a strong Association that can provide financial assistance to the children of members.  From the beginning, the goal of this program was to ensure that member's children who qualify would have an easier time funding their education.  As an Association, we are pleased to report that since the programs inception in 2006, we have handed out over $116,750 in financial assistance to our members children.  Our goal is to continue to expand this effort for future generations.

Money for the Scholarship Fund is raised in several ways. $25.00 of every A, SM, C and F Class member’s dues is designated for the fund. The association holds an annual Christmas raffle with all proceeds designated for fund. Some 50/50 raffle proceeds from our monthly meetings are designated for the fund, and finally we occasionally receive donations specifically designated for this fund. The scholarship funds not given out each year are invested in an interest bearing account for the sole purpose of future awards.
